The Emergency Communications Division is responsible for answering all E-911 calls made from within the City limits of Montgomery. In addition, the division answers administrative calls for police and fire service as well as fire and burglar alarm calls.
After calls are received, communications personnel are responsible for dispatching the calls to the appropriate police or fire personnel via 2-way radio.
Another important responsibility of communications personnel is the accurate entry and removal of wanted persons, articles and vehicles in NCIC. This includes providing, on demand, the results of NCIC/ACJIC queries made by field units.
