DIVISION OVERVIEW

The Telecommunications Division is responsible for the management of the E-911 phone system operated by the City of Montgomery. They also manage and maintain city phone lines, phone systems, wireless phones, voicemail systems, pay phones, pagers, long distance services, data/special circuits, and fax machines.



Telecommunications technicians are also responsible for maintaining all city owned copper and fiber optic infrastructures that support voice communications, video, data networks, Internet, and long distance services. An additional responsibility of this division is the City's switchboard. The switchboard consists of specially trained operators who process general information calls for city government and handle all incoming mail.
