OUR PURCHASING WAREHOUSE
ABOUT THE CITY'S PURCHASING WAREHOUSE

The Purchasing Warehouse receives, stores, and issues supplies as requested by City departments. These supplies are used to provide a great many services to the City. The Warehouse maintains more than 1,600 line items totaling approximately $350,000 on a daily basis.

The Warehouse also controls the transfers of materials or equipment between offices, departments and agencies. Our office is responsible for selling any surplus, obsolete or unused supplies, materials or equipment by Internet bid through GovDeals.com. Our surplus program through GovDeals added to the General Fund more than $170,000 in 2005. It is expected that this amount will increase significantly in the current year.

MISSION
To provide the City of Montgomery with quality products at the lowest cost through competitive buying practices. To maintain a stock of supplies needed on a regular basis and sell unused or surplus supplies and equipment at auction.
