The Property Maintenance Division enforces codes and local ordinances which prescribes minimum housing standards deemed essential for safe and healthful living.

Codes: International Property Maintenance Code (adopted 2003) addresses specific requirements governing the maintenance of existing structures.

Weed Ordinance No. 29-2002
An ordinance establishing the removal of overgrown weeds over 12" in height.

Nuisance Ordinance No. 28-2002, (46-2004, 15-2005 inclusive)
An ordinance establishing the removal and clearance of litter, junk, trash, stagnant water, abandoned and junk vehicles, auto parts, appliances, building materials, furniture, parking on the front lawn, vehicles for sale on private property and mud within the city limits of Montgomery .

Demolition of Unsafe Building Structures Ordinance No. 44-2006
An ordinance providing for the demolition of unsafe, unsanitary, fire abandoned, and dilapidated building structures, emergency demolitions and City Council approved demolitions.

Unlawful Parking Ordinance No. 5-2007
An ordinance repealing ordinance No. 15-2005, and declaring unlawful to display or offer motor vehicle for sale upon private property and providing procedure for removal.
