The Street Division provides quality maintenance for repairing, cleaning, renovating, and replacing the City's infrastructures. This includes several hundred miles of public streets, right-of-ways, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, as well as storm water systems such as drainage inlets, ditches, and pipes. This division is also responsible for mosquito and herbicide spraying throughout the entire City as well as the daily maintenance of the City's portion of Oakwood Cemetery. Responding to hazardous spills when notified by the Police or Fire Department is another major task. During inclement weather conditions, our crews are on call 24 hours a day to perform seasonal activities such as putting sand on bridges to remove ice or cleaning up debris from the City's arterial streets caused by hurricanes or tornadoes.
