We maintain the grounds and grave sites of the cemetery. We interact with funeral homes, monument companies and families of deceased persons. Families, historians, and other persons rely on our accurate burial records to aid in historical searches and genealogical studies. Tours and public inquires are provided regarding historical or renowned persons buried at the cemetery. We only maintain the City's portion of the cemetery. Oakwood Annex is privately owned by the State of Alabama Department of Insurance. All inquires or concerns about the annexed portion of the cemetery should be directed to the State of Alabama.
