The Parks & Recreation Board consists of nine (9) regular members, each appointed by a City Councilman for a term of four (4) years. The Board meets the second Tuesday every other month at the Crump Community Center.
The Parks & Recreation Director keeps the Board informed of staff changes, events, growth, projects, and the direction that the Department is taking in the City. While not a policy board and advisory only in nature, the Director accepts feedback, advice, and considers any recommendations regarding the various items discussed. Ad-hoc committees may be set up to study specific issues and make recommendations to the full board.
These are civic-minded individuals who are trying to make a difference in their communities and the City’s Parks & Recreation programs.
