The Engineering Department inspects 110 Municipal bridges or bridge culverts, none of which are deficient, to assure the safety of motorists and pedestrians traveling within the city. These inspections are performed on a frequency of every two years or less, as required by State and Federal Highway Administration. The information obtained during these inspections is forwarded to the City Maintenance Department, as well as ALDOT, and FHWA.
