The Traffic Engineering Department consists of four divisions: Electrical, Electronic, Sign and Paint, and Parking Management. Our responsibilities include the installation and maintenance of all traffic control devices, signs, striping, and parking meters. We administer the total street lighting program, including Interstate lighting for the City of Montgomery.

Our engineering staff assists other departments in evaluating and approving site development plans, subdivision designs and zoning proposals. This also includes the approval and placement of dumpsters needed in construction and/or renovation projects.
