Brought to the Zoo through a grant from Legacy Partners in Education, BioBoxes are a great change of pace for the 4th-6th grade classrooms. These teaching aids help teachers create a fun-filled learning experience on eight different science-related subjects, including mammals, habitats, birds, endangered species, fossils/dinosaurs, invertebrates, reptiles/amphibians and conservation.
Each lesson plan comes in a large box that includes all the necessary items to teach that subject. Each box contains:
> Videos
> Artifacts and tactile items
> Activity sheets and workbooks
> Games and activities
BioBoxes can be reserved through the Montgomery Zoo for a two-week period. And best of all it is FREE. For more information or to reserve your BioBox today, please call [334] 240-4900 and ask for someone in the Education Department. When you pick-up a BioBox, a $25 deposit is required.
