The Montgomery Police Department is working hard everyday to fight crime and keep people safe. One of its most recent public safety efforts include a new high-tech crime-fighting tool that law enforcement and city leaders say will make Montgomery safer called the ShotSpotter. The ShotSpotter is a system that can quickly pinpoint the location of gunfire within a few feet, facilitating a fast response by police and other emergency responders. The system was introduced on June 25 with a live demonstration by the Montgomery Police Department.
