We are very excited to announce the City’s plans for this year’s 4th of July celebration. The 3 day “STAYCATION” starts on Thursday, July 2nd with RSVP’s 2nd Riverfront Pub Crawl at 6:30p.m. It will start at the Harriott II and progress through downtown Montgomery. Tickets are just $10 in advance or $15 day of and can be purchased at www.funontheriver.net or the Riverwalk Box Office located in the Biscuits Stadium. Admission will allow you to receive food and drink specials as well as hotel room rate specials at all of our participating downtown partners, which include: AlleyBar, The Exchange, Sous La Terre, the Harriott II, The Olive Room, the Club Car Bar, Off the Wagon, Club 322, Nobles, Dreamland, The Montgomery Brew Pub, The Hank Williams Museum, The Renaissance, Hampton Inn & Suites, Embassy Suites…just to name a few. There will also be Harriott II cruises at 8p.m. and 10p.m. for $10 w/a Pub Crawl wristband or $15 without.

On Friday, July 3rd, the weekend continues with the Capital City Downtown Streetfest from 6:30p.m.-10:30p.m. Bring the entire family down as certain streets will be closed off for train rides, inflatable’s, bungie runs, micro reality raceway, The Big Green Bus, The Party Palace will have characters that will mix and interact with the public, water features, cotton candy and other goodies, concerts, complimentary skating at Montgomery Skate Park, etc. Admission is free to the festival; however, some of the children’s activities will have small charges. All of our downtown hotel partners are offering special hotel room rates, so please book your rooms soon at the Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites or The Renaissance before they’re all gone. We’d really ask that everyone come down early and eat dinner or enjoy an adult beverage at any of our downtown establishments, which include The Exchange, The House, Dreamland, AlleyBar, The Montgomery Brew Pub, Nobles, The Olive Room, Embassy Suites, Lek’s, Club Car Bar, Sous La Terre, Off the Wagon, Boomer T’s, Club 322 just to name a few. There will also be 2 stages set up, one on Tallapoosa Street beside the Stadium, which will feature “The Groove Factor Band” and another at the Court Square Fountain where “Splendid Chaos” will be playing. To top the evening off, immediately following our Friday Night Dinner Cruise, the Harriott II will offer a 10p.m. moonlight cruise for a $15 ticket price.

To close out the City’s 4th of July “STAYCATION” we will present our very popular Fourth of July Riverfront Celebration with the MAX foreworks spectacular. Gates open at 5:00p.m. with Free Admission and will feature the Capitol Sounds Concert Band and the Montgomery Chorale with special guest conductor Dr. Johnny Long. There will be several food vendors, the Big Green Bus, the Splashpad, water slide, inflatables, Captain Hooks pontoon boats and seadoo rentals and Harriott II riverboat mini cruises at 5:00p.m. and 6:15p.m. The huge MAX fireworks spectacular over the Alabama River will begin immediately following the Biscuits game.
