The City of Montgomery Faith-In-Youth Alliance has teamed up with two other local nonprofit organizations: EGW (Empowering Generations of Wellness) and KEEP Productions Modeling and Mentoring Program to host its first River Region Health, Wellness & Resource Fair on Saturday, September 22nd at Union Station Train Shed from 11a.m. to 2p.m. This event is designed to educate young people about diverse issues relating to their health and overall well-being; increase awareness through education and intervention as well as inform them of various services and opportunities available in the community. The goal is to empower young people to live healthy, safe and productive lives.
Several activities have been planned including a physicians’ panel, educational material, mini fashion show, drumline performance, live DJ, along with food and games. The ASU Honey Beez will also make a special appearance. The Faith-in-Youth Alliance is a city-wide initiative dedicated to empowering young people to reach their full potential by providing a foundation for healthy development.
Empowering Generations of Wellness (EGW) is an Alabama non-profit corporation organized pursuant to the federal tax code 501(c) (3). Through a medley of character building techniques and applications, EGW promotes an elite wellness culture of the mind, body, and spirit. The Empowering Generations of Wellness paradigm extols the values of self-esteem, motivation, positive attitude, and healthy living through artistic expression and communication by way of social and educational platforms. KEEP Productions Modeling and Mentoring Program gives young people the opportunity to express themselves through their individual talents, as well as provide educational programs, workshops, cultural and social activities that will enhance their personal growth and promote self-pride and self-worth.
