Our Department
The City of Montgomery Planning Department is comprised of seven (7) divisions: Long-Range Planning, Land Use Controls, Community Development, Transportation Planning, Highway Safety, Urban Forestry and Geographical Information System (GIS). The responsibility of the Director of Planning is to advise the Mayor and City Council on matters relating to the development and improvement of the city, as well as assisting in the preparation of strategic plans that will have long-term impact on the City.
Mission
The City of Montgomery Planning Department mission is to ensure the orderly use and reuse of land and to assist in maintaining and enhancing the economic and aesthetic viability and physical function of the City.
