COUNCIL INTRODUCES FIVE NEW PROPOSED ORDINANCESPosted: Wednesday, September 3, 2008 10:00a.m.
The Montgomery City Council introduced five new proposed revenue increases during Tuesday's meeting. The proposal calls for a 4 percent tax on tangible personal property, which excludes personal property. It also raises garbage fees from $16 to $20 a month for one trash can that cannot exceed a 30-gallon capacity unit. The Council hopes to avoid using the City's $15 million reserve funds by raising more than $3 million a year in revenue.
A public hearing will be held on each of the ordinances at the next Council meeting, September 16th at 5:00p.m., in the Council Chambers (Room 142). To review or print a copy of the proposed ordinances, click any of the links below.
