The City of Montgomery Sanitation Department will remove nearly all items, including up to 2 tires, placed behind the curb on regular pick-up days free of extra charge, except loose leaves, dirt, building materials and tree branches exceeding four feet in length or eight inches diameter.

The event is intended for private residential document shredding, not for business or company disposal. No advance document sorting is necessary as shredding equipment can destroy paperwork with paper clips, staples or rubber bands attached.

Thanks to a Safe Routes to Schools grant from the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) awarded to Central Alabama Regional Planning & Development Commission (CARPDC) and the River Region Obesity Task Force (RROTF), each of the schools that participated will receive a $210 stipend.
