The Legacy Golf Championship 2026

The LEO Foundation, LEO Golf Academy, the Black College Golf Coaches Association (BCGCA), the City of Montgomery, and Montgomery Parks and Recreation will host the LEGACY Golf Championship in Montgomery. The annual LEGACY Golf Championship is a premier golf tournament featuring a diverse group of junior and collegiate golfers from across the country. The 5-day event (June 13-17, 2026) hosted during the Juneteenth week will begin with a Jr/Collegiate AM fundraising event on June 14th which is open to the community to play in and end with a 54-hole stroke play championship at Lagoon Park. Lagoon Park offers players tree-lined fairways and a serene atmosphere. It was named one of the Top 100 courses in Alabama by Golf Digest. Our goal is to provide a venue that creates invaluable opportunities for junior golfers to showcase their skills and network with the college coaches who will be in attendance. This event will also allow collegiate players to gain World Amateur Golf Rankings. The uniqueness of the LGC will stem from the extra activities incorporated into the daily schedule, providing an opportunity for the players and their families to learn about Montgomery's rich history as the “Birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement”.

Funds raised for The Legacy Golf Championship will help players invited to come by lessening their expenses and will help the mission-driven initiative to restore middle school golf programs within the City of Montgomery. The Moving Montgomery Forward Golf Initiative partnering with Golf. My Future. My Game will foster academic growth through an 8-week golf and educational program encompassing STEM, Reading, and Critical Thinking. The theme, "Where the Legacy Began and The Legacy Continues”, encapsulates our commitment to building a brighter future for the young people of today and tomorrow.
