City of Montgomery Launches Resident Communications Survey

Post Date:July 14, 2026 9:19 AM

Montgomery, Ala. - The City of Montgomery today announced the launch of the Resident Communications Survey, an ongoing effort to better understand how residents receive information from the City and how they prefer to stay informed in the future. The survey takes approximately 2–3 minutes to complete and will guide improvements to City updates, alerts, newsletters, and public engagement.

The survey invites residents to share how they currently receive City news, which communication methods they prefer, and what types of updates matter most to them, from public safety and road closures to parks, events, and emergency alerts. It also includes an optional open‑ended question where residents can offer suggestions on how the City can better communicate with the community.

Mayor Steven Reed thanked residents for participating and emphasized the importance of their feedback.

“We want every resident to feel connected, informed, and heard,” Reed said. “This survey is one of the many ways we’re working to strengthen communication across Montgomery. Thank you for taking a moment to share your thoughts. Your input directly shapes how we communicate and how we serve our community.”

Residents may complete the survey online through the link or by using one of the provided QR codes. Submissions go directly to the City of Montgomery’s Department of Communications.

Survey Questions Include:

  • How residents currently receive City information
  • Preferred communication methods
  • Types of information most important to them
  • Age range
  • Suggestions for improving communication
  • Optional contact fields for those wishing to receive City newsletters or text alerts
