All new hires must attend the New Employee Orientation and complete Benefit Enrollment within 30 days of hire. After completion of Orientation, new hires will meet with a Colonial Life Benefits Counselor to enroll in the following benefits:

         Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, Voluntary Life Insurance, and Colonial Life Voluntary benefits (Group Specified Disease, Whole/Term Life Insurance, Dental Insurance, Disability Insurance, Cancer Insurance, Hospital Confinement, and Accident Insurance) 

Benefits start the 1^st of the month following enrollment.

Employees have the option to enroll in the Group Health Plan (Medical, Dental, Prescription, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse) when they complete all new hire paperwork. The Group Health Plan starts 30 days from hire date unless the employee provides a Proof of Coverage Letter in which case insurance will start the date of hire.

The 2025 Open Enrollment Period was July 28 - August 29 with all benefit changes taking effect October 1, 2025.

There will be an Aflac Special Enrollment Period September 15 - September 30 for changes taking effect November 1, 2025. 

You can schedule a one-on-one session with an Aflac representative by logging into your ESS portal.

Benefit changes not made during the Open Enrollment period can only be made within 30 days of a qualifying event. See Qualifying Event section for more information.

Employees who do not enroll or make changes to benefits as a New Hire or during Open Enrollment can only do so if they experience a qualifying event.
