The Plumbing, Gas and Mechanical Division enforces the 2024 Edition of the International Plumbing Code, 2024 International Fuel Gas Code and the 2024 International Mechanical Code.

Permitting Requirements:

• current certification as a Master Plumber and/or Gas Fitter from the State of Alabama Plumbers and Gas Fitters Examining Board
• current certification from the State of Alabama Board of Heating and Air Conditioning Contractors
• copy of current City of Montgomery Business license on file in Permitting Department
• copy of master card holders state certification card on file in Permitting Department
• color copy of master card holders drivers license or state issued photo ID on file in Permitting Department
• permit application signed by master card holder listed on business license
• permit fee payment in the form of cash, credit card, check or money order made out to the City of Montgomery
