Major Ronald Dorsey Jr. brings more than two decades of dedicated service to the Montgomery Police Department. After graduating from the Montgomery Police Academy in 2006, he served in a broad range of assignments across the department. Throughout his career, he has completed extensive training and leadership development and has excelled in numerous divisions, including the Juvenile Division, Traffic Division, Special Services Division, Criminal Investigations Division, Special Operations Division, and Patrol Division. In November 2023, he was promoted to the rank of Major and now serves as the Executive Officer to the Chief of Police.

Major John Hall, who has more than 22 years of service, joined the Montgomery Police Department in April of 2002 upon completing the Montgomery Police Academy. During his tenure, he has completed numerous training and leadership courses while achieving success in a variety of capacities and positions of rank including: Patrol, Criminal Investigations Division, and the Patrol Investigations Bureau. He now serves as the Administrative Division Major.

Major Denise Barnes, who has more than 22 years of service, joined the Montgomery Police Department in 2002. After completing the Montgomery Police Academy, she served as a patrolwoman in various areas throughout the City of Montgomery. During her tenure, she has completed numerous training and leadership courses while achieving success in a variety of capacities and positions of rank including: Special Services (Traffic, River District, School Enforcement, and Community Policing), Criminal Investigations, Public Information, Neighborhood Enhancement Team (N.E.T.), Domestic Violence, Patrol, and Administrative Division. She now serves at the Criminal Investigations Division Major.

Special Operations Division 

Major Stanley Rucker

Major Stanley Rucker has served in various capacities and positions of rank during his 30 years of service with the Montgomery Police Department. He currently serves as the Special Operations Division Commander. In his current capacity, Major Rucker commands the SWAT Unit, Traffic Division, School Enforcement Bureau, K-9, and the River District. Major Rucker’s previous assignments include Administrative Division Commander, Municipal Jail Commander, Sector Commander of the Patrol Division, Division Commander of Criminal Investigations, and Assistant to the Chief of Operations and Chief of Investigations.
