Montgomery’s approach to public safety, public health, and community resilience is grounded in prevention, data-informed decision-making, and coordinated action. The plans, reports, and policy briefs presented here address roadway safety, violence prevention, housing stability, opioid response, and justice-system outcomes while strengthening the partnerships and services that protect residents and support safer, healthier communities.

Montgomery MPO Safety Action Plan

Adopted by the Metropolitan Planning Organization, this regional plan establishes a Vision Zero strategy to reduce severe roadway crashes by 50 percent by 2030 and eliminate traffic fatalities by 2050. Using CARE crash data, it identifies the region's High Injury Network and recommends targeted engineering, enforcement, education, and roadway-design countermeasures.

Public Safety Implementation Plan - Together We Rise

Fines and Fees Comprehensive Report

This report evaluates the outcomes of Executive Order No. 2024-0220, which remitted more than $1.09 million in municipal-court debt associated with pre-2014 nonviolent offenses. The analysis documents the effect on 4,153 residents and examines how clearing longstanding court debt can reduce cycles of justice-system involvement while supporting continued compliance.
