The City of Montgomery is pleased to extend invitations to 30 students for the 2025 Mayor's Internship Program, offering hands-on experience and insight into municipal government operations.

The Mayor's Internship Program (MIP) is an TEN-week paid internship beginning June 9, 2025 and ending August 22, 2025. Successful candidates are required to commit to a minimum of 25 hours per week and can work up to 37.5 hours per week based on the needs of the host department. The candidate must be available to work for the duration of the internship.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Participants in the MIP will work on projects and tasks providing research, administrative, and staff assistance to City managers. Projects will include research, drafting presentations and creating reports.

Mayor’s Interns may help complete grant applications, compile and analyze data, improve constituent relations and plan City events in departments such as Finance, Communications, Economic Development, Neighborhood Services, Grants, Information Technology and Cultural Affairs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be current undergraduates who have completed their freshman year before June 2024 or graduate-level students. (recently graduated seniors may be considered)
Community college students who will have completed their second year before June 2023 are encouraged to apply.
Graduates of the Class of 2022, 2023, AND 2024 will also be considered.
