Honor & Recreation for Montgomery’s Military Community

A new 14.4-acre park designed to honor America’s veterans while giving Montgomery families and service members a high-quality, modern recreational destination. Located at 2390 Cong. W. L. Dickinson Dr., moments from Maxwell AFB, this visionary project unites remembrance with recreation to strengthen community wellness and military family support.

Memorial Park ConceptMontgomery is home to a proud and growing military community, including Maxwell Air Force Base, Gunter Annex, and multiple reserve and guard units. Our city carries a responsibility—and an opportunity—to create a place that both honors their service and strengthens the quality of life for their families.

The Veterans Memorial Park will transform a currently vacant 14.4-acre public property into a vibrant, accessible, multi-purpose space designed for reflection, recreation, health, and connection. It includes memorial structures, quiet gardens, athletic facilities, children’s play areas, and community gathering spaces—all crafted with dignity and meaning.
